Hello and welcome to the Deviantart of Limegreenjelly Cosplay.
I am currently in residence around the area of Bristol, UK

Since 2009 my main hobby and interest has been Cosplay. I love breathing life into the characters that I admire. It's a break away from reality. I love costuming, even though sometimes I rather be a nana and sloth on the sofa with a cup of tea in hand, wrapped in a blanket. I do have other interests including the latest candies to hit the confectionery shelves. Candy Crash Test has been my blog for over 2 years now.

I try and keep it updated as much as possible for everyone to enjoy!

To keep me active and fit, I enjoy learning tricks with hula hoops and occassionally get the poi poi out to enjoy the pretty colours flash by me.
That's me in a nut shell, please feel free to look around my page and please visit my new Facebook page of Limegreenjelly cosplay. Progress pictures, news and everything can be found there.

Quiet Period

I haven't done a lot recently, mostly been working on my personal problems, and slowly but surely getting myself back together. Cosplay is still on hold in my life, as I've found other things to spend my money on.

I have been here, there and everywhere. Mostly trying to organize my sister's hen party, which is coming up in about a month's time. We've had half of the hen party celebrations by going to see my relatives in Spain, which was a lovely little break away from the reality of life.

Got myself set up on a course and doing rather well in the lessons, still got three quarters of it still to go, but I've got hope I'll get a little qualification out of it. It didn't cost me much, however one more thing I can add to my CV once completed.

Cosplay pictures will still be added, so I'm not going to be completely un-active on Deviantart. Still considering whether to go to London Comic con or not but we shall see what the wheel of work rota has in store.

Birmingham Comic Con

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 27, 2015, 3:30 AM
Well this week has been a mix of emotions and to be honest, trying to do the right thing or a good deed has clearly landed me in a little bit of bother. I clearly understand it was my fault, I have apologies and just got to dust myself off and move on and learn from the mistakes I have made.

I'm not attending any conventions now until maybe July, which gives me time to recoup, think about life and decide on my latest costume before the next convention begins.
Birmingham Comic Con was the latest event that I attended.
A nice easy one to get to and close to the location of the popular *Kitacon* which will be happening in the summer (unfortunately due to life events I won't be attending)

Me and few friends only went up for the Sunday. Birmingham is not one for two days, unless it gets as big as London within the next few years. Sunday is quieter and there is more space to wonder around the stalls. I went as Yoko Littner in her S.t.a.r.S air hostess uniform. A nice easy costume to get in and out of, a welcomed change to some of the costumes I have worn. Met a couple of celebrities including Quinton Flynn (voice actor of Raiden: Metal Gear Solid, Rino: Final Fantasy, Axel: Kingdom Heart, Timon: Lion King series) A lovely man and instead of me wanting a picture of him it was the opposite. I also hugged a massive Warhammer which was surprisingly soft and squishy.

Another first time cosplayer came with us and had an amazing time and cannot wait to cosplay again at the next convention. Brought a few bits and pieces from the artist alley. Nearly contemplated the masquerade but our day was jam packed enough.

More to come shortly, but a hiatus is now on the cards until later

Midlands Comic Con

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 11, 2015, 1:51 PM
It's been around a month since I visited Midlands Comic Con with a couple of new cosplayers under my wing. It was a very long day, but worth every moment. Midlands is always the smaller one of Comic Cons here in the UK, but I like the relaxed atmosphere, do whatever, be where ever you desire.

I rummaged through my cosplays to find the oldest one I still own to date. Sailor Mars is as old as my journey through the cosplay world. It was one of my first cosplays and will forever be my favourite. I did a couple of things to spruce her up for the big day and she was convention ready within a few days.

We got there around 9:30am and didn't venture in until around 10:30am by which point the queue reduced down and we easily got through the entrance. Being overwhelmed by the first hour my friends went outside for fresh air whilst I walked around a little more. They soon returned for more of the convention action.

Found a couple of recognizable faces, stood and chatted before taking my first break from the convention. After all the excitement peaked, I got a couple of shots from Fox Eye's Photography. My new found cosplayers enjoyed their time and buzzing for their next convention.

Photos to come.

Next Convention: Birmingham Comic Con
Next Costume: Yoko (S.t.a.r.S) Air Hostess Uniform

Thank-you so much for the advice, I am cosplaying as someone from Disney which might not be recognised if someone only watches cartoons but i'll try my best and hope your next convention goes well.

Majority of brightly coloured wigs are usually characters from Japanese animation and manga. Some are from games and some from comic books. You'll find it, resourcing pieces can be the hardest part. A costume helps with confidences because you do feel like you are the character, so you act like the character instead of yourself. Its a big bonus when people notice who you are and asks for a photo.

I hardly know the characters some of these people portray these days, they all have pink, blue and green hair and not like the princesses I know.
I suppose it's worth a shot going although i still have to find Avery's outfit which has been difficult and wearing a costume hides the social anxiety of being yourself.

You can always go to Manchester to soak up the atmosphere, you don't necessarily have to wear a costume. There's plenty of stalls, panels, and shows going on throughout the day. It will give you a good idea how other Comic cons will be and also you can maybe snap your favourite characters if you see them :)
